What’s wrong?
The «Chernobyl» series, created by HBO, is a dramatic reconstruction of the events that took place in 1986 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, when one of the most devastating man-made disasters in human history occurred. The concept of the series focuses not only on the explosion itself and its consequences, but also on the human fates that have become part of this tragedy.
THE TITERS CONCEPT
The concept of credits is a stylish visualization, where text and video of interference represent instability, destruction and unpredictability. The use of a background in the form of an old television framework covered by noise and interference creates an atmosphere that simultaneously refers to retro-esthetics and highlights the dissonance arising from a disaster or crisis.
MUSIC
I decided to use Budd and Ino’s composition because it creates some kind of abstract sound landscape that dives into space out of time and combines well with interference, creating a disruption of normal reality. Music also symbolizes the absence of a clear link between characters and the world.
